Setting of with another glorious day: blue skies ☀

Off early, so flies scarce. If it’s going to be glorious, it’s going to be flies. You can’t have your cake and eat it here!

Arriving in Walpole early afternoon. First, port of call: burger and chips!

Walpole is a pleasant small town. Most tourists will pass through, as they’re generally heading onto Denmark or Albany. Good in my books! After spending too much time in the cafe, and with flies still abundant and the heat fairly high, I head off to look for a room for the night or two!

Not hard though when one cycles down the road and there’s a quiet YHA called Tingle All Over. I’m in before I even know it! Yes, and it was two nights! So nice to put ones feet up and do nought!

Supplies restocked.

There was a detour as shown on a sign. The markers were a bit off: I missed them by 2kms. Found them again! This leg is pretty sandy too, not bothered though, as this is what it’s about.

Booner Mundak hut, had at one point been destroyed by wildfire as the trees were still looking fairly charred!

The next day to Jinung Beigabup hut was a big one at 50kms+. The K’s not the problem, just the sand. But, as with all my cycling that’s all the fun of it. If it was easy, then, every Tom-Dick-n-Harry would be out here. Then, I would not be out here too!

Flies generally around, but as soon as I started gaining some good elevation up to Jinung Beigabup hut, they were pretty much gone. The air was defiantly cooler, along with a good breeze blowing: this kept the little buggers at bay!

Again, I had the hut to myself and duly pitched my tent as far from the hut as possible. Just in case anyone turned up!
